Conservapedia is a favorite read of mine. So much of what Conservatism is, is reactionary so I'm always interested in seeing what they come up with without direct input from the opposing side. Its like diving into the depths of the the dedicated conservative's psyche - individuals who's entire self-conception revolves around their place as a conservative. Needless to say I was overjoyed when I stumbled upon this gem:
At first it was an epiphany. Then, seriously cute. I said to myself, "Aw! Is THAT what this all is about? Could it be that all that bitter hatred from the Right, all that transparent belief in "individualism", that entire "we're the victim" mentality is nothing more than a desperate plea for inclusion and friendship? That after generations of being goofed on for their walmart shopping, banjo-playing, Jesus thumping, small town quirks, conservatives just want to be treated like one of the boys? Is this conservative display of "rebelliousness" nothing more than an attempt to get the cool kids - Hollywood and the other "elites" - to recognize them as being pretty cool too?
Its okay Limbaugh, we forgive you.
