A look at the First World's history with Haiti
Once again Kucinich shows himself to be the only Democrat worth voting for.
Though it may pain Democratic voters and the Liberal establishment, we must recognize that this country is genuinely in the hands of private businesses interests; that even includes the politicians they support.
Two words: @!$%# that.
An interesting look at a widely cited figure from climate change deniers
Twenty years ago one of the most important events of the second half of the twentieth century occurred: the collapse of the imperialist bloc of the East and of the European Stalinist regimes, including the principal one: the USSR.
Conservapedia is a favorite read of mine. So much of what Conservatism is, is reactionary so I'm always interested in seeing what they come up with without direct input from the opposing side.

Some where Karl Marx is smiling a big "Told you so"
A commenter posted this on a seed and I thought it was worthy of its own seed. I have my own thoughts on the video, but I'd like to hear what others think about it.
No doubt he was a outspoken participant of a few recent political gatherings.
"Working Americans continue to suffer from the worst financial crash since the Great Depression, and Washington has so far offered up only band-aids to help them out -- extended unemployment benefits, small stimulus checks and deeply flawed mortgage relief programs that have done …
I wonder: how many turtles have to die before people accept climate change as a fact?
Can we protest now Liberals, or do you need another year to realize Obama is a rat?
Once again Dennis Kucinich shows what Liberals should be saying but aren't:
Speaking to veteran CNN interviewer Larry King on Sunday, Texas Republican Congressman Ron Paul argued that he is just as upset with America's economic system as activist filmmaker Michael Moore -- except the longtime doctor does not believe the illness is purely based on capital …
I sincerely hope the Liberals out there will wake up and start criticizing Barack Obama. After Code Pink's betrayal, I'm glad to see that the ACLU has stuck to its scruples and shown that justice does not bend for any party...
While the G-20 Protests (naturally lacking the corporate backing of more recent protests) have gone largely ignored by the mainstream media that has not stopped thousands from turning out to the protest the gathering of some of the world's most powerful heads of state.
I don't even want to KNOW how that thing looked as it came at them.
BACK IN February--when even the mainstream media was convinced the capitalist economy was in full-blown meltdown mode--Newsweek magazine ran an article titled "Why there won't be a revolution."
Now there is a group of people Righties would gladly die for!
Absolutely breathtaking. Must watch!
Ah, once again Liberals have been duped into supporting a conservative appeaser. Not to toot my own horn but....HA-HA! Told you so!
Clearly Gates has not learned his lesson. Stupid old man.
Yay! The US military is building robots that could feed on human bodies! What could possibly go wrong?
I thought it would be fun to try and gauge the political outlooks of Viners.

Thank you for your comments about the fact that we will always have some unemployment in a Capitalistic society. The humanity and compassion (not to mention knowledge) you showed made me feel so much better. I was laid off 4 months ago after working for 26 years. I am not a loser, I am not lazy and I certainly am not looking for a hand out. I have an MBA degree and and struggling to find work due to being over-qualified for many positions. I feel bad that I am going to need to apply for unemployment soon if I'm unable to find a job. I was very disconcerted when I read the comments of the previous person and your statements helped me to remember that a hand up is not a hand out. Thank you.
Thank you!

Hi Adrian,
I wanted to address your questions, re: God's Plan. You are asking really good questions and since you do not denounce faith outright, I felt I should answer you as well as I can. I have a short comment for you and then I would recommend you talk to a minister or preacher who has a good reputation in your community. It's especially good to find someone who is known for serving, or doing good works in the community.
I'll preface my answer with the fact that I am a "lefty" but I'm also a Christian. The story of the Garden of Eden is a morality tale. All of the Old Testament is written this way. What it's meant to mean is that man (or humanity) exhibits a sin nature. No matter what we do, we will never be able to be sin free, because then we would be equal with God. However, we are saved through God's grace, i.e., the death of Jesus on the cross. God does have omniscience, and can see the future, but like the other poster says, that does not negate free will. Every person can act however he or she wishes, and what God says is that, unfortunately, we are responsible for the bad and sad things that happen in this world. The key to understanding (big overview here) is that God's promises aren't made specifically about our lives here on earth, (although you can garner some answers about that too), His promise is about the hereafter or your life after you die. He promises salvation to those who believe and devote themselves to Him.
I always hesitate to talk religion on these forums and I loathe people who come off all "preachy", but I felt compelled to answer based on your questions. I will also say that I am a firm believer in the separation of church and state. It's only good for policy to include religion if it's YOUR religion that's being represented, and in America we're supposed to be striving for equality for everyone.
Thank you for listening.
